Rafael J. Rolón Rivera, MD
Internal medicine. Hospital medicine. Physician leadership.
Dr. Rolón Rivera is a board-certified internal medicine physician who has practiced hospital medicine since 2014 in twenty hospitals across Florida, Indiana, Arizona, Iowa, Tennessee, and Delaware, from community hospitals to a large academic medical center. Throughout his career he has admitted and managed the sickest patients overnight, the setting in which sepsis, heart failure, and failure-to-rescue cases most often arise.
He currently serves as a hospital medicine facility medical director in Indiana and continues in active clinical practice. He holds medical licenses in Florida, Indiana, and South Carolina.
He is a candidate for the Physician MBA at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business (expected May 2027) and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Villanova University and the Certified Healthcare Financial Professional designation. His leadership work has focused on hospital quality measurement, length of stay, readmissions, and the systems that keep patients safe overnight.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, he is fully bilingual. He reviews Spanish-language records without translation, interviews Spanish-speaking family members and witnesses directly when counsel requests it, and testifies in either language.
He accepts engagements from plaintiff and defense counsel. Fees are hourly and are not contingent on the outcome of any matter.
